Open Data Access
SMP supports legislation and industry standards that require automakers to provide independent repair facilities with the same telematics, diagnostic, and repair data available to their authorized dealer networks. Restricting this data harms consumers and stifles competition.

Through our Standard® Training program, we provide free technical training resources to independent technicians, ensuring they have the knowledge to service modern vehicles — including EVs and advanced driver assistance systems — without relying on dealer-only tools.
